As part of his "Old Monuments Tour", Prof.S.D.Agashe (Adjunct Professor, EE Department, IIT-Bombay), took a small group of control engineering enthusiasts through his collection of significant papers on classical control (Jan 21, 2009). He gave glimpses of the papers he had right from the 1841 paper by Astronomer Royal, G.B.Airy to the 1942 paper by Ziegler and Nichols on PID controller tuning. He also gave glances over the control system standard developed by IEEE (then IEE) and other groups involved in control systems.
He promised another session on going through benchmark papers on modern control very soon.
Will try to post minutes and references so that interested people can explore further.

Kudos to the students
I congratulate the initiative taken by Krishnan, my former student and current at IITB. I wish this gives us the immense joy of sharing.
Let me recommend that all of us read "Fooled by Randomness"
I shall write a review in my next blog.

Indian Control Engineers' Forum
This blog is an ally to the google group: http://groups.google.com/group/indian-control-engineers-forum . Indian Control Engineers' Forum is an idea that was discussed during the first "Workshop of Challenges in Control Engineering", held in NIT-Trichy, between Jan 8-10, 2009. This will be a conglomeration of control engineers involved in fundamental/applied research work in the academia and industry around India.
